Old-school RPG fans may well remember the heady days of the PlayStation 2 as being the golden age of gaming, at least when it came to weird and wonderful Japanese RPGs appearing every few moments. Amongst those games, Dokapon Kingdom brought the original Dokapon 3 2 1 – Arashi o Yobu Yuujou over from the Super Famicom, and updated it with some suitably PS2-era graphics, before eventually making the jump to the Nintendo Wii. THEN, Compile Heart remade it for the Nintendo Switch as Dokapon Kingdom: Connect. Are you still following along?
In essence, that’s over thirty years of what might be fundamentally the same game, so Dokapon fans should delight in the news that Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 is set to continue the fun in 2027, arriving next summer for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with a simultaneous worldwide launch as well!
The team describe Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 as a role-playing adventure with a tabletop party-game twist where one lucky turn can give you the upper hand and leave your friends furious.
As a follow-up to the frenemy favourite, Dokapon Kingdom: Connect, this direct sequel features more character customisation options than ever before, massive cooperative battles where the rewards can be shared or hoarded, and an all-new mode where all players begin the game at a high level with powerful equipment. Fans and newcomers alike can check out the all-new announcement trailer above for a sneak peek at the colourful, friendship-destroying antics that await.

Additional details on the physical and digital release of the game will be provided at a later date.
To celebrate the series’ first simultaneous worldwide launch, Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 will make its debut at Thailand Game Show 2026 from Thursday, October 29 through Sunday, November 1, 2026.
