Apex Legends Season 8 – Mayhem is kicking off on 2nd February, introducing the explosive new character Fuse and a transformed take on the game’s original map, Kings Canyon.
Check out the trailer here:
Fuse – whose moustachioed, cybernetic enhanced appearance has raised some eyebrows – is an explosives expert with a thick Aussie accent. Hailing from the planet Salvo and with a rather unique backstory involving plenty of freedom fighting, heisting, explosions, and a friendly rivalry turned sour involving a golden grenade which you can see in his story trailer here.
He enters the arena as an explosives enthusiast, joining the game as Respawn add the lever-action rifle 30-30 Repeater to the game’s arsenal, and a shake up to Kings Canyon, which will be the map’s third overhaul.
The character’s introduction to the Apex Legends arena doesn’t exactly go as planned, as you can see in the trailer, leading to a devastating attack on the watching crowd and seeing Kings Canyon transformed by massive explosions. We’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see how the map itself is altered, but it looks like Respawn have moved mountains to make those changes. Or should we say removed?
Apex Legends is out for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with Season 8 kicking off on 2nd February. The game is also coming to Nintendo Switch at some point, with speculation that might be happening for Season 8’s launch after it was postponed from late 2020.
